The Windows Snipping Tool now enables users to create animated GIFs, eliminating the need for third-party applications or online tools. This guide will explain how to activate this feature and create GIFs using the Snipping Tool on Windows 11.
The Snipping Tool app for Windows 11 now includes an option to create animated GIFs from screen recordings. While the features are quite basic now, you can create GIFs that are up to 30 seconds long with a frame rate of 12 frames per second using the utility.
The GIF creation feature is included in Snipping Tool version 11.2505.21.0 and later. Currently, this feature is available to Windows Insiders using the Canary, Dev and Beta channels of Windows 11, and it will be rolled out gradually.
If you haven’t received this feature yet, you can activate it manually using a tool called ViveTool. Here is how to do it.
